HELP US HELP YOU?

Every part of the PIASC family (association, benefit trust, credit union, insurance agency, and printing museum) is committed to bring you real value for your dollars and the best possible customer service. But we need to be sure that we’re walking the walk and not just talking the talk. So, we need your help. If you feel that you haven’t received what you need, if our response is lacking or non-existent, please call Bob Lindgren, PIASC President on his cell 818.219.3855 or email bob@piasc.org with your concern. We’ll make it right. On the other hand, if you are happy with our service and products, please let us know.

PRINTED FLIERS WORK!

92% of consumers say they use printed fliers to get ideas for household shopping trips. This is just one of this month’s Talking Points at www.ChoosePrint.org.

DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS?

Most firms now see the merits of accepting credit cards for their invoices. Granted there is the merchant fee, but if you know the client will use plastic, it’s easy to build the fee into the quote. Remember, it’s tactically unsound to put the fee as a line item on your quote, but it’s easy to build it into the number. Even if the client surprises you with the credit card, immediate and certain payment is usually worth the merchant fee. Our buying power partner CardConnect provides an outstanding, low cost service for credit card processing. Contact Mike Davis at 913.953.5302 for a free quote today.

If you have any questions about this and other discounts available to members, please contact Maribel Campos at 323.728.9500, Ext. 210.

TWO WAYS TO CURB ENDLESS EMAIL EXCHANGES

Email can devour a manager’s day. You can save time by limiting the length and number of back-and-forth exchanges. First, try typing “No Response Necessary” in the subject line of any email you send strictly for information purposes. Your correspondents will appreciate knowing that the contact is complete.

A second way to wrap up exchanges is to set a numerical limit to them. For example, if an exchange requires more than two messages from each party, stop sending message and meet in person or over the phone; don’t end the discussion until the matter is resolved.

THE ANNUAL SURPLUS DRIVE WAS A SMASHING SUCCESS!

The 29th Annual Surplus Drive was held on Saturday, January 16th at Grant Dahlstrom, Inc. (formerly The Castle Press). This year we were overwhelmed by the amount of paper donated, which totaled 190 pallets of paper and office supplies. The Castle Press alone donated 129 pallets and the rest of the donations came from 13 other PIASC members. Because of the amount of paper available, Susan Kinney invited teachers to return on Tuesday, January 19th to take away the rest of the paper.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the following PIASC members for their support of this annual give away that helps keep graphics arts programs alive. They are:

Automation Printing Co., BurdgeCooper, Chromatic Inc., Lithographers, Clear Image Printing, Coast to Coast Label, Diversified Printers, Grant Dahlstrom, Inc. (Castle Press), Mayer Litho, Inc., Midnight Oil Agency, Inc., Pacific Paper Trading dba Pacific Paper, PJ Printers, Sappi Fine Paper, Sinclair Printing Company, and Thoro Packaging.
