On November 16, 2016, the United States Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) released a new updated Form I-9 which is used for employment eligibility verification. All new hires must fill out this form when hired or within three days of a new hire to confirm their identity and employment authorization. This version replaces the old form Rev. 03/08/13 N* which is still valid to use until you download the new version Rev. 11/14/2016 N* which is valid from November 14, 2016 to August 31, 2019. The new form can be found here. Be sure to update your new hire forms with this document.

Your participation will bring happiness to the children of City of Hope, as a toy donation will be made in your name. We do the shopping… all you have to do is to personalize your gift with a special message for a boy or a girl.

You will also support Graphic Arts Education by attending this Holiday Party and participating in a Silent Auction. Proceeds will go to the RAISE Foundation, which underwrites numerous educational programs for graphic communication students.

Earlier this year, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Senate Bill 3 (Leno-San Francisco). As a result, California’s minimum wage is going up again for many employers on January 1, 2017, as it inches its way to $15 per hour in 2022.

The law does provide that the scheduled increases may be temporarily suspended by the Governor based upon him making certain determinations. Additionally, the law requires the Director of Finance, after the last scheduled increase, to adjust annually the minimum wage under a specific formula.

The following schedule pertains to any business that employs 26 more employees:

  • January 1, 2017 - $10.50 per hour*
  • January 1, 2018 - $11 per hour *
  • January 1, 2019 - $12 per hour *
  • January 1, 2020 - $13 per hour *
  • January 1, 2021 - $14 per hour *
  • January 1, 2022 - $15 per hour, until adjusted by the formula *

The following schedule pertains to any business that employs 25 or fewer employees:

  • January 1, 2018 - $10.50 per hour*
  • January 1, 2019 - $11 per hour*
  • January 1, 2020 - $12 per hour*
  • January 1, 2021 - $13 per hour*
  • January 1, 2022 - $14 per hour*
  • January 1, 2023 - $15 per hour, until adjusted by the formula*
