Launched in January 2011, Choose Print is an educational campaign aimed at addressing misconceptions about the effectiveness and environmental credentials of print on paper. The hub of the campaign is the Choose Print website, which brings together in one place much-needed, reliable information about print’s credentials as a driver of both off-line and on-line sales as well as a renewable and recyclable environmental choice.

We encourage every industry member to get involved and help spread the word about Choose Print. How? By visiting its website and going to the “Get Involved” link. There you’ll find a number of things you can do to help promote the Choose Print campaign—and above all—your business.

Share this information with your sales force, production, and administrative staff. Remember that we are all in it together, so help us spread the word about the sustainability and effectiveness of Print.

Take the following easy steps:

  1. Add the Choose Print logo to your website’s home page and link it to chooseprint.org
  2. Use the articles posted, which you can cut-and-paste onto your company’s newsletter.
  3. Print the posters to prepare your team to overcome inaccurate but commonly-held beliefs about the environmental impact, communication power and marketing effectiveness of print on paper.
  4. Add the Choose Print logo to your delivery vehicles.
  5. Add the Choose Print logo to your stationery and promotional material and
  6. Get involved in Social Media by simply liking us and sharing with your friends. It’s easy!

TAKE YOUR VACATION

Almost all companies have a paid vacation policy which is an important benefit and a real help for people who need a break from working every day.

A good vacation policy should provide for vacation picks (usually in seniority order), limit the number of people who can take off at one time and establish blackout periods (if necessary) to accommodate work peaks.

DON'T WASTE YOUR CUSTOMERS' TIME

Time is money for your company – and your customers. If you waste customers’ time, you run the risk of losing them. To show customers that you respect their time you should:

  • Have enough customer service reps
  • Resolve complaints quickly
  • Be punctual
  • Meet deadlines
  • Be fully prepared for meetings and calls
  • Communicate clearly

 

WARNING!

Those folks sending phony emails to get money are still at it. This week PIASC’s Chief Accountant received an email from PIASC’s President asking her to wire $54,000 to an account at the BofA. The text was drafted to offer a legitimate sounding explanation and contained a promise that back-up documentation would be produced by the end of the day. Fortunately, the Chief Accountant asked the President whether he really wanted to do it. Warn your people about this, as the email looks completely legitimate.
