Print Creative Alliance announces the selection of Frank Parks, President of The Parks Group in Modesto, California, as the Print Creative Alliance 2026 Executive of the Year. Parks is a visionary leader who transformed a quick-print business into a full-service custom print shop. In his 45-year career, he has developed a reputation for selflessness to his customers and employees, ensuring that both succeed.
“We selected Frank as Executive of the Year because of his unending commitment to the success of this industry,” says Amy Miller, Chair of the Print Creative Alliance Public Relations Committee. “Whether you’re a customer, employee or fellow association member, Frank is always open to share his wisdom while also demonstrating his skill as a strategic, growth-oriented business owner.”
Like many printers, Frank grew up in the industry. His father, Austin “Bud” Parks, founded Village Instant Printing (VIP) in 1974 as one of California’s earliest instant printing operations. Frank learned the craft from the ground up, working alongside his father until the elder Parks’ retirement in 1999. As President, Frank took the helm of a 25-person operation and systematically expanded its capabilities and reach.
Under Frank’s leadership, VIP evolved far beyond its quick-print origins, eventually becoming The Parks Group. He strategically invested in equipment and services, adding advertising specialties, direct mailing, fulfillment, wide-format printing and digital services while maintaining the consistent offset quality that built the company’s reputation. Today, The Parks Group serves print buyers throughout the Central Valley and Bay Area, competing effectively against much larger operations.
Beyond business expansion, Frank prioritized his employees’ wellbeing in ways both practical and visionary. He developed a self-funded dental and vision plan ensuring comprehensive coverage for all staff members regardless of rank, a decision that reduced costly turnover.
Frank’s industry service reflects this same commitment to collective advancement. He served on the VMA Executive Board from 2002 to 2023, culminating in his tenure as Board Chairman from 2015 to 2018. He represented VMA on the PIA National Board from 2008 to 2010 and joined the Printing Industries Benefit Trust in 2015, serving as Vice Chairman since 2023. Throughout his service, Frank has been known for his willingness to share knowledge gained from decades in the industry, offering guidance rooted in experience and a genuine desire to see others succeed.
Away from the office, Frank is an avid golfer and boating enthusiast. Today, he splits time between California and Arizona, where he lives close to his grandchildren.
